Worship
Our tradition teaches that the world is sustained by prayer, study and acts of lovingkindness. Prayer is a language that each of us speaks and hears in a different way. Or Shalom’s approach to spirituality is inspired by Jewish history and tradition, yet informed by contemporary Reform Judaism. Under the guidance of Rabbi Ari Margolis, our services combine the traditional beauty of Judaism with a forward-looking approach to our religion as practiced today that helps us understand how the lessons from the past are still relevant to our lives. Our highly participatory style of worship encourages individual pursuit of spirituality within a supportive community.
Or Shalom offers a variety of meaningful spiritual experiences including Friday Night Shabbat Services, Young Children’s Services, Poetry Shabbat, Veterans' Shabbat, Men’s Club Shabbat, Family Mishpacha Shabbatot, Shabbat in the Park, and more. Our services are fully egalitarian (men and women participate equally), and include a balance of Hebrew and English and a mix of contemporary and traditional melodies. Members and visitors are welcome at all services at Or Shalom.
