What are the World Zionist Congress (WZC) Elections?

Every five years, Jews around the world have a chance to make their voices heard in Israel through the World Zionist Congress (WZC) Elections. These elections determine how hundreds of millions of dollars are allocated to critical religious and cultural institutions across Israel. By voting for the Reform Slate (listed #3 on the ballot), we can champion a vision of Israel rooted in democracy, equality, and peace.

Voting Reform supports:

  • Reform Judaism in Israel

  • Women's and LGBTQIA+ rights

  • Rights for non-Jewish citizens of Israel

  • A peaceful and secure resolution to the conflict in Gaza, including the return of all hostages

Why do the WZC Elections matter to Or Shalom?

This election is especially meaningful to us at Or Shalom; as we celebrate Rabbi Ari Margolis’s 10 years of light and leadership with our congregation, we are moved to honor his commitment to justice and inclusion by taking action on what he calls “the biggest way we can support our Reform Jewish values in Israel.”

This is also an opportunity to support our very own Jeremy Seaver, who is running for a representative position! Your vote uplifts his voice and our values.

Am I eligible to vote?

You can vote in the WZC Elections if you:

  • Are Jewish

  • Are 18 years or older by June 30, 2025

  • Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident AND primarily live in the U.S.

  • Agree with the principles of the Jerusalem Program, which affirms the centrality of Israel to the Jewish people and encourages the unity of the Jewish people and the preservation of Jewish identity

  • Are not a voter in any Knesset election from November 2022 through July 2025

Whether you’re a long-time member of the community or a young adult just becoming eligible, your vote matters. Every ballot adds strength to our collective voice.
